Johan Cruyff may very well be football’s greatest genius when considering both the physical and mental elements of the game. Pelé and Maradona had a more complete skillset, but lacked Cruyff’s vision. It was that unique insight into the game that allowed Cruyff to make a great impact on football both as a player and a coach.
The following documentary, made in 1991, was created before Cruyff won the Champions League with Barcelona, and therefore focuses mostly on his career as a player. In contrast to most documentaries, this 50 minute feature doesn’t contain endless quotes from other people – it’s 50 minutes of goals, dribbles and other interesting footage not seen anywhere else.
